Dennis Fotinos is the Executive Chairman, North America, for Enwave Energy Corporation. He is responsible for overseeing corporate governance, establishing and managing the long-term growth strategy of the business and managing key stakeholder relationships.
Prior to joining Enwave, Dennis was a Metro and City Councillor from 1991 to 1999. Over his three terms of office, Dennis played a leading role in establishing Toronto’s first Public-Private Partnership, chaired numerous Standing Committees and served on the Executive and Policy and Finance Committees of Council.
Dennis initiated and led the privatization efforts that ultimately led to the creation of Enwave. Then, as President and CEO of Enwave from 2001- 2016, he led the transformation of the company into an industry leader with a focus on sustainability. Notably, he initiated and oversaw the development of Enwave’s Deep Lake Water Cooling system and established the commercial strategy that made the project economically viable.
Dennis has served on the Boards of the Greater Toronto Services Board, the Association of Municipalities of Ontario and the 2008 Olympic Bid Committee. He has also been a director of the International District Energy Association and Canadian District Energy Association, as well as serving on the Boards of Harbourfront Centre, Ontario Lung Association, Tourism Toronto and Exhibition Place among others.
Dennis holds MBA degrees from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Schulich School of Business at York University, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Toronto.
