Walied Soliman is a Partner at Norton Rose Canada LLP in Toronto, where he is Co-Chair of the Special Situations Team focusing on Canada’s leading hostile M&A, shareholder activism and complex reorganization transactions. In addition, his practice focuses on public and private mergers and acquisitions and financings, corporate governance, and structured products.
Widely regarded as one of the country’s leading special situations practitioners, Walied was named to Canadian Lawyer magazine’s “25 most influential lawyers in Canada” in 2014. He has also been ranked by Best Lawyers in Canada since 2013, and was named to Lexpert Magazine’s “Top 40 under 40” in Canada in 2009. Among his various philanthropic endeavours, Walied currently sits on the Board of the Toronto SickKids Hospital Foundation. He is also actively involved in provincial and federal politics in Canada.
Walied holds an LL.B from Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the Bar in 2002.
