As part of a new residential block we proposed in 2013, our development plan provides:

• Connectivity between the east and west neighbourhoods through a new public street;
• A new public park with views to historic Fort York;
• Tree-lined streets with wide sidewalks and bicycle routes; and
• Quality architectural and urban design that will complement the existing neighbourhood.

Before a development application was submitted, we met with local community members and Councillor Layton to discuss the history of the industrial site as well the vision for redevelopment.

Together, we looked at the existing neighbourhood, including its history, character, massing and existing development proposals. We also reviewed the site’s characteristics, including challenges and opportunities, as well as preliminary site studies and design features.
